Roland Aust holds a Diploma in Physics from the Technische Universität Berlin. After working as a research assistant in Theoretical Physics, he began focusing on science management. After eight years as managing director at SFB 910, a DFG-funded Collaborative Research Centre, at SCIoI Roland joined as the managing director, where he was responsible for management and coordination of the Cluster of Excellence from 2019 to 2021.
