Firuza Rahimova is a student assistant working on adaptivity in learner-teacher interactions as part of SCIoI Project 50. Her multidisciplinary background brought her to SCIoI, building on her bachelor’s in Molecular Biology and Genetics, and Philosophy of Science, and her ongoing master’s studies at the Berlin School of Mind and Brain. During her master’s program, she interned at various projects including IMAGEN at Charité-Universitätsmedizin Berlin and the Active Self (SPP 2134), which introduced her to clinical and computational aspects of neuroscience; then further to robots and sensorimotor learning – in a way that traversed a longitudinal route towards what self is from both clinical and robotic sides. These experiences paved the way to her current work exploring different learning strategies and algorithms. Alongside her assistance at Project 50, she also works with the Neurocognitive Psychology Lab at Humboldt University, on her master’s thesis about mind attribution towards robots, on the crossroads of all the disciplines sparking her curiosity.
