NEWS: Science of Intelligence now member of Big Data Value Association (BDVA)

On 1 June, 2023, the Cluster Science of Intelligence has joined the Big Data Value Association (BDVA)BDVA is an industry-driven international not-for-profit organization with over 230 members all over Europe. It focuses on enabling the digital transformation of our economy and society through data and Artificial Intelligence, fostering European excellence in research and innovation.

The Big Data Value Association (BDVA) has emerged as a prominent force in Europe, with a clear mission to create an innovation ecosystem that drives the data-driven digital transformation of the region.

Operating through dedicated task forces, BDVA actively engages its members in shaping the European research and innovation agenda for data and Artificial Intelligence. These task forces develop guidelines and strategic roadmaps, catering to the needs of both industry and policymakers. Furthermore, BDVA’s events serve as platforms for fostering collaborations and facilitating the co-creation of projects.

By becoming a part of the BDVA community, members gain increased visibility at the European level, enhancing their opportunities for networking and knowledge sharing. BDVA’s services provide up-to-date information on the latest advancements in the fields of data and AI, ensuring its members stay abreast of the ever-evolving landscape.

The partnership is coordinated by our researcher Dafna Burema. At SCIoI, she works with various academic and industry partners in the etami network (Ethical and Trustworthy Artificial and Machine Intelligence) to create guidelines for ethical and trustworthy AI. In addition to AI and ethics, her research interests include critical theory, STS, social robots, gerontechnology.
