The Admission Process

The next call for applications will open in fall 2023 and will be administered via an online application tool. Read below for an overview of our application process and the admission requirements. Requirements

The cluster welcomes applications from all disciplines that contribute to intelligence research. Applicants for PhD positions must hold a master’s degree at the time of starting the position. This means that if you are still in the process of completing your master’s degree, we will still accept your application, but you must be able to present your certificate before starting the position.
Each postdoctoral or doctoral position is associated with a project within SCIoI.

Our Application Process

After review by our faculty, selected candidates are invited for a personal presentation and interview, if possible in Berlin, otherwise digitally. Applicants invited to hold their interview in Berlin receive financial reimbursement for all or part of their travel expenses, depending on circumstances. Invitations are sent out four weeks in advance to allow candidates to obtain the necessary visas.

All doctoral researchers are required to successfully complete the teaching program. SCIoI is committed to equal opportunity, diversity, and inclusion. We are especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of our research community.
