NEWS: Announcing the SCIoI & ISAB Summer School 2023!

Efficient AI for individual artificial agents and teams is a critical area of research for computer science and engineering. To explore paths towards efficient and sustainable robot perception and learning, the Excellence Cluster Science of Intelligence (SCIoI, Berlin, Germany) and the International Society of Adaptive Behavior (ISAB, Aberystwyth, UK) are hosting a one-week summer school in Berlin on the theme of “Embodied Intelligence – Perception and Learning in Nature and Robotics.” The Summer School will take place at SCIoI from 21–25 August 2023.

We are proud to offer an exciting summer school for early-career researchers from around the world. This oneweek summer school will explore alternative paths towards efficient and sustainable robot perception and learning, as well as efficient AI for individual artificial agents and teams. Inspired by insights of biologically intelligent systems, participants will learn about the challenges and novel insights for robot perception and learning.

Throughout the week, attendees will participate in lectures by invited guest speakers and faculty members from Science of Intelligence, as well as in tutorials that will provide handson experience of the subject matter. The scientific program will be supplemented with social activities for participants to get to know the city of Berlin and everything it has to offer.

This summer school is open to 30 PhDs and PostDocs, and it is a great opportunity to learn and discuss the opportunities and challenges of efficient AI as well as network with peers. By the end of the week, attendees will have a better understanding of efficient and sustainable AI and will be able to use the knowledge they have gained in their future studies and research.

The deadline for the submission of applications is 31 March 2023.
