The Department of School Education m. d. focus on Teaching and School Development of the University of Potsdam is looking for a research assistant (with B.a. degree and a total of 8 hours per week, initially limited to 6 Months) to support the project “Social responsiveness and its effects on learning in human human and human-robot interaction”. Our project: The interdisciplinary project is part of the Cluster of Excellence Science of Intelligence. Our goal is the development of artificially intelligent learning technologies capable of social cues to perceive, identify and react appropriately to students. To do this, we analyze socially responsive behaviors that occur in the interaction between People appear in order to then transfer them to e.g. learning robots. Your areas of activity include:

  • Analysis of video data from teaching situations
  • Support in the preparation and implementation of empirical studies
  • Project-related collaboration in the field of school education m.d. main emphasis Instructional and school development
  • Literature research
  • A keen interest in understanding intelligence and the strong communicative skills required for interdisciplinary research

It is required to have:

  • Studies in a subject relevant to the area of ​​responsibility (psychology, cognitive sciences, human factors, etc.)
  • Interest in the latest technologies in the field of “artificial intelligence” Good knowledge of common Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Good knowledge of German and English

It is desirable to have:

  • Experience in conducting empirical research
  • Safe handling of R or SPSS
