Apu is am a behavioral biologist interested in understanding why animals and humans differ consistently in their behavior, cognition, and motivations. Her research focuses on the causes and consequences of personality variation across individuals, combining empirical field and laboratory work with theoretical and statistical modelling. During her PhD at the University of Groningen, she studied individual differences in migration tendencies in three-spined sticklebacks. In her first postdoc at the University of Bern, she investigated social behaviour in cooperatively breeding cichlids. At SCIoI, Apu contribute to Project 58, where uses high-throughput methods to study exploration trajectories across clonal lines of amazon mollies.
